The Flat Top Family

Welcome

Hey y’all! My name is Jillian Jensen, and I’m the proud owner of Flat Top - Western Wear! I wanted to hop on here and introduce myself and my four-legged family. I’m originally from the Fort Worth area, Keller, TX. I was born in Woodward, OK, but I don’t tell too many people that . I graduated from Keller High School in 2017 and received my Bachelor’s in Marketing and Business Administration from Tarleton State University in 2021. I had originally planned on finishing my Pre-Veterinary degree at Tarleton, but Organic Chemistry had other plans for me!While at Tarleton State, I met the love of my life, Jay, who finally asked me to marry him a year after we graduated. Jay is from a totally different part of the world than what I’m used to. Even though I’ve been on the back of a horse since I was in diapers and rodeoed through high school and college, I’m used to beautiful trees and a quick 15-minute drive into town. Jay, on the other hand, lives 45 minutes from the nearest “big city,” and if any of his dogs were to run away, you could watch them go for three days and still see them! I’ve tried planting a few trees in our yard, but it turns out I don’t have a green thumb.West Texas has slowly grown on me with its robust landscapes and breathtaking sunsets. Wildlife roams free and thrives in the summer heat. We’ve been blessed to expand our horse herd here as well. When we’re not planting hay or fighting mosquitoes, we’re busy breeding our little herd of mares. So far this year, we have three healthy and sassy babies on the ground. We also enjoy traveling when we have the spare time and hope to make a trip to Africa one of these days. Seems like being a vet could have definitely come in handy, but there was always something about the western fashion industry that kept drawing me back. My dream of owning and running my own store has been years in the making. Throughout high school and college, I always seemed to enjoy the opportunities I had at the western stores I worked in. I spent three years at Boot Barn during high school and worked at Saddle Rags in Stephenville during college. Both jobs gave me immense knowledge and experience I hope to use for the future! Now, with Flat Top - Western Wear, I’m excited to bring my passion for western fashion and my love for the cowboy lifestyle to all of you. Thanks for joining me on this journey – I can’t wait to share more with y’all!
